This is my story...

Dealing with bad skin is difficult, especially when you’re a fashion model and a twin whose sister didn’t get the acne gene. I can honestly say the hardest thing I’ve gone through so far in my 21 years has been extremely bad breakouts during a very crucial time in my life…the filming of a TV show about modeling!

Models are supposed to be near perfect and I was far from that. Being on a TV show with 5 other models with what I called creamy smooth skin was a stressor in my life. My skin felt like it had a bunch of sprinkles on it and I experienced what it was like to feel ugly during a time when I should have looked my best.

That single-handedly brought “realness” to 8th & Ocean which made me feel great! I felt that being on television in front of a huge audience was my chance to relate to young America who deals with acne – so I opened up.

On the show, I was challenged to "look like a model" and at the same time everyone around me was saying "she’s insecure," and "her skin is awful" which made me feel like crap, especially knowing that my twin sister and biggest competitor had perfect skin. So I had one option – fix the problem and move on with my life with great skin and never look back.
